  1. The Dodgers beat the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 in 11 innings Saturday night to win the World Series in seven games. Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who won three games in the series, was named MVP.
  2. The Dodgers are the first team to repeat as World Series champions since the 2000 New York Yankees.
  3. Former Cincinnati Bengals tight end and longtime broadcaster Bob Trumpy passed away at the age of 80 the team announced Sunday.
  4. USC beat Nebraska 21-17 Saturday to improve to 6-2 on the season.
  5. Auburn fired head football coach Hugh Freeze who was 15-19 over two-plus seasons.
  6. Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola is out for the year after suffering a broken fibula Saturday in the third quarter in the loss to USC.
  7. The Chargers beat the Tennessee Titans 27-20 Sunday to improve to 6-3 on the year.
  8. The Rams beat the New Orleans Saints 34-10 to improve to 6-2 on the season.

  10. JSerra Catholic has fired head football coach Victor Santa Cruz after three seasons. JSerra was 14-18 under Santa Cruz overall including 3-12 in Trinity League play.
