- The Indianapolis Colts acquired cornerback Sauce Gardner from the New York Jets Tuesday for two first-round picks (one in 2026 and one in ’27) and receiver Adonai Mitchell.
- The Jets also traded three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys for a 2026 second-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick and defensive tackle Mazi Smith.
- The Arizona Cardinals beat the Cowboys 27-17 on Monday Night Football. The Cowboys dropped to 3-5-1 while the Cardinals improved to 3-5.
- UCLA opened the 2025-’26 College Basketball season with an 80-74 win over Eastern Washington Monday night.
- With a 59-20 win over Don Lugo last Friday night Rowland won the Gano League title and finished the season 10-0 for the first time in school history. It is the Raiders first league title since 2012 and the first outright since 1995.
- The Chargers acquired offensive lineman Trevor Penning from the New Orleans Saints for a 2027 sixth-round pick.
- San Diego Padres right-hander Yu Darvish will miss the entire 2026 season after surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his pitching elbow.
- The Atlanta Braves hired Walt Weiss as their new manager. Weiss has been the Braves’ bench coach since 2018.
- Chargers left tackle Joe Alt suffered a season ending ankle injury Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
- Don Lugo head football coach Daniel Robles has resigned after one season. The Conquistadores finished the season at 1-9.
