  1. The Detroit Lions beat the Dallas Cowboys 44-30 on Thursday Night Football.
  2. Kansas State hired star quarterback Collin Klein as its new head football coach. Klein was a Heisman Trophy finalist for the Wildcats in 2012.
  3. Cal hired Oregon State defensive coordinator Josh Lupoi as the new head football coach the school announced Thursday.
  4. James Madison hired former Florida coach Billy Napier as its new head football coach.
  5. Tim Skipper, who served as the interim coach at UCLA for nine games, has been named the new head football coach at Cal Poly.
  6. LeBron James scored eight points in the Lakers 123-120 win over the Toronto Raptors Thursday night ending his streak of 1,297 consecutive double-digit regular-season scoring efforts.
  7. Miguel Rojas is returning to the Dodgers on a one-year deal.
  8. Veteran cornerback Darius Slay, who was claimed on waivers by the Buffalo Bills, is not reporting to Buffalo and is unsure if he wants to continue playing.
  9. The Athletics are on track to open their Las Vegas Stadium before the 2028 season.
  10. Penn State is focusing its head coaching search on Iowa State’s Matt Campbell.

    To celebrate LeBron scoring only 8 in the Toronto game, I hear the Lakers are hot to snap-up another geriatric hall of famer, Chris Paul, who the Clippers just released. In anticipation of the second 40-year-old arrival, special rocking chairs and leg-warming blankets are going to be added to the Los Angeles bench.
