The Top 3 remained the same as Damien, Bishop Amat and Bonita all won. La Serna and Rio Hondo Prep are both rolling. Alta Loma moves into the Top 12 with a big road win over St. Francis. Los Altos likes the number 49. Baldwin Park and “Jack Jack” are back back.
1. Damien (2-0) – Another tough opponent, another victory for Spartans.
2. Bishop Amat (2-0) – Lancers win “prove it” game on the road over Oak Hills.
3. Bonita (2-0) – Bearcats make quick work of Diamond Ranch.
4. Charter Oak (1-0) – Chargers shake off early jitters to beat Upland.
5. La Serna (2-0) – La Serna has outscored its first two opponents by the combined score of 111-14.
6. Rio Hondo Prep (2-0) – Kares haven’t allowed a point in two games.
7. Los Altos (2-0) – Conqs drop 49 on opponent for the second straight week.
8. Northview (1-1) – Not going to penalize Vikings for loss to La Habra.
9. La Canada (2-0) – Joe Bell has thrown for 309 yards and ran for 186 overall in the first two games.
10. Alta Loma (2-0) – Nice road win for the Lions at St. Francis.
11. El Rancho (2-0) – Dons look like the real deal after shutout of Santa Fe.
12. Baldwin Park (1-1) – Lequand “Jack Jack” Jackson tilts the field.

Chino has West Covina beaten last week 21-0. It was over. Not a fluke they were pummeling the Dogs. Then Chino decided to give the game away. Here take the ball, lets not pick up a loose ball, let that receiver go, lets stop playing defense.. Based on that I’am giving El Rancho a good chance on beating West Covina if lowly Chino can dominate them until they simply quit.
When certain programs start to improve their quality in the game then they deserve very positive media coverage. Only my opinion
I do find it surprising that no startup guy has picked up the template that Cal Preps left behind. I mean MaxPreps is a disaster. They can’t even report scores accurately and seems to be easily hackable. How can you trust a site like that. Old calpreps was easily navigable as you could find accurate information on it. If there is a SoCal prep site that resembles calpreps please let me know.
Muir and Downey fall out? They both beat most 5-12 teams
If this regular posting is meant to highlight the better teams’ climb to #1, how about a new BOTTOM 12 that highlights those programs that are trying to climb out of the dumpster? The worst teams out there might appreciate some recognition for their efforts to improve. In this scenario, St Paul might avoid being compared with its past teams and instead be portrayed as a loser with heart.
