(Azusa) – Alfred Zamora resigned as the head football coach at Azusa Monday. Zamora was in his third year as the head coach at Azusa and the Aztecs were off to an 0-2 start this season.
Azusa fell to Arroyo 48-0 in Week 0 and followed that up with a 14-7 loss to Garey last week. Albert Sanchez, the current Athletic Director, is expected to take over as head coach for this season.
The Aztecs will host Gabrielino Friday night.

Sad. They were great in the mid 7o’s. Packed Citrus College. Had some talented basketball teams too.
Some are saying Austin Montoya might be next to leave in the middle of the season, but I say that’s hogwash. Why would a fellow walk away from what looks like a budding dynasty?
They had a good coach who left to go to desert / inland empire circa 2010 , and they’ve been “ challenged “ ever since .
As noted by others , you would have thought that merger with Gladstone might have helped. It hasn’t .
