Los Angeles Dodgers fans have to hope that Mark Walter’s woes end with his Lakers deal and don’t reach the Ravine.
Uncle Stan Kroenke’s purchase of the Los Angeles Angels could change the MLB world in SoCal.
The elation Angels fans must be feeling has to be akin to the day they announced the signing of Don Baylor, Joe Rudi, and Bobby Grich in the first free agency class in November of 1976.
(I know they won a World Series, but ever since I almost got into a fight with a vendor back in the 80s at the Big A, I’ve despised them.)
And, if possible, I hope Uncle Stan name’s them the California Angels.
This isn’t a knock on Robert Griffin III, but knowing he came into the league at the same time, on the same team, as Kirk Cousins is a great lesson in continuing to grind.
Griffin appeared in 28 games his first two years, but from 2014 to 2020 he appeared in just 28 games. Yes, he had the knee injury, and this is not meant to be a slam on him.
But Cousins, a fourth-round pick, who appeared in just eight games those first two seasons, was named the starting quarterback of the Las Vegas Raiders today.
Think about how many times Cousins was dismissed early in his career? And then think about how he kept going forward when things weren’t going his way. What an example of continuing to grind when others doubt you.
I don’t think it’s a hot take to say that LA fans are the worst in sports…they are. I’ve known that since I was a kid. I’ve seen them arrive late, leave early, boo their teams, boo their icons—Fernando Valenzuela was booed at Dodger Stadium in 1988.
I get it, almost everyone is from someplace else…and the franchises—for financial reasons, I understand—cater to the posers on the west side because they’ve got the bread to spend.
I don’t know why attendance at USC’s opener is a debate…Uncommon humidity, the foolishness of kickoff at high noon, and the opponent being San Jose State…who in their right mind thinks that’s a priority?

Saw the Vince Young doc on Netflix. I thought the person who came off best was his wife. It wasn’t a great look for either Young or Jeff Fisher.
We’re all built different, but I grew up without a dad. In fact, on the street I grew up on, there was one dad. It was all single moms and older folk whose kids had grown up and moved away.
…And that one dad—while being a nice guy—was a drunk. So I struggle with guys who complain about not having a dad. There are things you lose out on, but the truth thrown into your face at an early age—fairly/unfairly—is that life will be good if you don’t repeat the life your dad lived.
(Note: Losing your dad early in life to death, that’s a different story. I’m talking about dads who bailed when things got tough.)
On the football side, the dude was young (no pun intended), and he did what young people do with a lot of cash on hand. And if you were watching football then, you knew VY would struggle passing in the NFL.

More like that Walter does not go to prison for the $16B federal loan fraud scheme that was the result of employees seeing iit and “blowing the whistle” on that fraud. Will Walter be able to pull the good ole Sgt Schultz-I see nothing etc.. But now we have another revelation, of a sale of a subsidiary of TWG global, EquiTrust to Magic Johnson for $350M (to make him a Billionaire) and then a subsequent loan from Johnson in the exact same $350M. Sources the Torres Podcast and statement by another MLB owner regarding the Walter-Gugenheim purchase of the LAD, wherein the purchase price suddenly went up significantly from around $1.6B to approx $2B just about the 350M discussed. The Sale of EquiTrust was not disclosed in TWG Global financials. This information is a lot more relevant to fans in LA than some ancient feud with the LA Angels over some change. Grow up The LA Dodgers purchase is ever more appearing to be facilitated by fraudulent transactions Of course LAD fans who are totally in the bag and accept no criticism no matter how warranted it is, will likely rain down criticism on my comment, but they need to know what is coming down the road in the Raviine, and it may be criminal
Yours is a pretty clear commentary of today’s morality. It’s never your fault. It’s your age, your temporary insanity, the woke culture whatever that is, the mean old guy that fired what a couple of quarters at you, as many baseball games that I’ve been to and got changed from the vendors they have never fired the change back at me there had to be a reason he did that. I guess he was lucky you didn’t go over there and kick his rear while he was holding his 50 lb sack. Good for you tough guy. Stay at Dodger Stadium and stay the heck away from the Big A thanks a lot.

The NBA has just announced punishment for Clipper owner Steve and it’s a doozy. The team must give up its first round picks in ’29, ’30, 31, 32, and 33. Ballmer is being assessed a $30 million fine, and is being suspended from team activities for one year. Two front-office guys are also being suspended.
Kawhi Leonard, the focal point of this affair, is being fined $700k, and has issued a statement of contrition while being allowed to go play for Toronto this year.
I’m waiting to see how money bags Steve responds to this hammering. Will he use his immense wealth to sue the league to get rid of the salary cap, and vindicate his violation thereof? Or, will he go along with this dressing-down in view of how us common folk feel about today’s billionaires?
Who gets in a fight with anybody at the Big A home of the singing cowboy and Walt Disney? What did you do to the vendor? Isn’t that job of lugging around frozen malts hard enough for a buck fifty an hour? Geez!!
From Joe T.: It was this old guy, he was a douche, he fired my change back at me with attitude and I called him out on it. I was 19 and incapable of walking away without getting the last word in. The crowd verbally ganged up on me…I’ll tell you getting thrown out of Dodger Stadium after sneaking in (I only got caught once) I was treated much much better.
