  2. Cathedral will host Downey Saturday night. The Cathedral-St. Paul game scheduled for Friday night was canceled due to COVID-19 protocols. 
  3. Former NFL linebacker Keith McCants, 53, was found dead Thursday in his home of an apparent dug overdose. 
  4. LSU at UCLA , Saturday 5:30 p.m. FOX. 
  5. After a 4-3 win over the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday night, the Dodgers are tied for first place with the San Francisco Giants in the NL West.
  6. MLB Network announcers Al Leiter and John Smoltz are now working remotely and not making in studio appearances after refusing the COVID-19 vaccine. 
  7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said the organization is 100 percent vaccinated against COVID-19. 
  8. The Seattle Seahawks signed Baylor basketball star Mark Vital to the practice squad as a tight end. 
  9. Former Tennessee Titans defensive end Jevon Kearse “The Freak” turns 45 today. 
  10. The NFL season kicks off Thursday September 9 with Dallas at Tampa Bay.
