Friday October 20
San Gabriel (4-4) at Bell Gardens (4-4)
This could be for second place in the Almont League. Both teams are looking up at Schurr but a win here will put either one in prime position for a second-place finish. Both teams have been up and down but San Gabriel has shown some signs of an explosive offense. The Matadors get the victory.
San Gabriel 24 Bell Gardens 17
Rancho Cucamonga (8-0) at Damien (8-0)
This is the game of the weekend. Two undefeated heavyweights going at it and will try to match each other blow for blow. The only common opponent heading into this one is Chino Hills. Damien beat the Huskies 34-7 while Rancho Cucamonga blitzed them 49-0. It could come down to a fourth quarter turnover. Rancho Cucamonga is battle tested having played a brutal schedule. The Cougars hand Damien its first loss.
Rancho Cucamonga 34 Damien 27
Arroyo (4-4) at South El Monte (8-0)
This is the one everybody has been waiting for in the Mission Valley League. South El Monte is undefeated while Arroyo is right where most people expected them to be after winning three straight. “This is the best South team I’ve seen in a long time. South is good,” said a longtime MVL coach. Everything has come together for the Eagles this year. They have won the close games as well as the routs. Arroyo is…well…Arroyo. The Knights have experience and have been in this situation before. South El Monte gets a big kick in the fourth quarter and escapes with the win.
South El Monte 30 Arroyo 27
Crescenta Valley (6-2) at Burroughs (7-1)
Burroughs is the best team in the Pacific. The Bears have proven that in its last two victories. Crescenta Valley will put up a fight but doesn’t have quite enough to hold off Chris Kulikov and Burroughs. The Bears pull away in the second half and remain unbeaten in league.
Burroughs 35 Crescenta Valley 17
La Canada (3-5) at South Pasadena (7-1)
South Pasadena is still eyeing that Rio Hondo League title. A couple things have to happen but the Tigers could still end up as the champs or in a tie for first place in the wild Rio. La Canada lost a shootout last week to Monrovia while South Pas took care of Temple City. Jason Hong is a hard man to bring down. Tigers win.
South Pasadena 35 La Canada 24
Los Altos (5-3) at Northview (7-1) (Covina District Field)
Great matchup in the Valle Vista. Northview needs the win to keep its eye on the prize – a Valle Vista League title. Los Altos fell last week to Diamond Ranch in overtime and could use a win to avoid being winless in league. The Conquerors may have to wait until next week. The Vikings just have too much. Northview by two scores.
Northview 35 Los Altos 21
San Dimas (4-4) at Diamond Ranch (7-1) (Thursday October 19)
San Dimas got a taste of Northview last week in a 26-12 loss and the Saints get another tough one this week with Diamond Ranch. The Panthers have had a fairly tough schedule losing only once all year to a solid Colony team. D Ranch gets another W here with a late score.
Diamond Ranch 21 San Dimas 14
Don Lugo (2-6) at West Covina (7-1)
Don Lugo has an explosive offense and is going to be a team that will make some noise over the next couple of years. The Conquistadores problems have been on the defensive side of the ball. West Covina will do what it usually does. The Bulldogs will pound it until they wear you out. And they’ve been doing it with success this year winning seven of eight games. West Covina moves to 8-1.
West Covina 38 Don Lugo 17

Anonymous: LOL… OH MAN PLEASE SAY HI IF YOU THINK YOU KNOW WHO I AM… LMAO
What is the point of this? You are anonymously saying some very immature things, why not grow up?
Looks like Singiser and company righted the ship! Knights win 21-0!
Friday Night is here so many big games that will decide league champions. Good luck to all teams tonight. Ill be at the swamp tonight to see if Arroyo can maintain its hold on the MVL or can SEM overtake them. North VS South, The “Civil War Bowl” Lets make this a trophy game. when both of these teams are good theres no game like it.
@TheRanch18
Sorry Felix, my bad. I just didn’t want you to twist a cankle on the way to shake my hand. Those shoes were SCREAMING last night lol

I WOULD LOVE FOR YOU TO COME SAY HI 🙂 LOL… STOP BEING DELETED
HAHA… TO SCARED… LAME
This is definitely Ron’s burner account.
The point is ( as correctly noted above ) tonight’s result directly influences THIS seasons Divisional placement . I can only gather many people don’t understand this as it is a counterintuitive and as I’m trying to point out specious administrative policy #allforcloserplayoffgames
CIF creates all those “ qualifiers “ #loseyourwaytotitle
