  1. The Chargers lost to the Dallas Cowboys 20-17 on Monday Night Football at SoFi Stadium to fall to 2-3 on the season. 
  2. The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 10-0 Tuesday night to take a 2-0 lead in the NLCS. 
  3. The Texas Rangers beat the Houston Astros 5-4 Monday night to take a 2-0 lead in the ALCS. 
  4. The Philadelphia Eagles signed receiver Julio Jones to a one-year contract. 
  5. Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson is “probably” out for the season and will undergo shoulder surgery in the next week or so said Colts owner Jim Irsay. 
  6. Colts nose tackle Grover Stewart has been suspended without pay for six games for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs. 
  7. The Rams signed running back Darrell Henderson to the practice squad and RB Myles Gaskin from the Minnesota Vikings practice squad Tuesday. Running backs Kyren Williams and Ronnie Rivers were both hurt in Sunday’s victory over the Arizona Cardinals. 
  8. The Lakers open the 2023-’24 season Tuesday October 24 at Denver. 
  9. Utah at USC, LA Memorial Coliseum, Saturday 5:00 p.m. FOX
  10. New York Jets injured quarterback Aaron Rodgers said he wants to play this season but that he still has many hurdles to clear before he’ll be back on the field.

    I’m enjoying the standoff between James Harden and the 76ers. One of the best things about that conflict is that there are no social justice slogans involved, just the wonder of how this player will behave if he doesn’t get traded. It’s a fascinating power struggle, far more interesting than the actual sport.
