(La Crescenta) – Crescenta Valley came from behind to defeat La Canada for the eighth time in their last ten meetings.

Marro Lee ran wild for the Falcons with 231 yards on 24 carries and scored three touchdowns. Lee’s 14-yard run with 48 seconds remaining capped off a furious comeback for Crescenta Valley in the fourth quarter.

After the Spartans took a 34-24 lead on Matt Faber’s eight-yard touchdown reception from Scott Gray the Falcons went to work.

Zac Wilkerson led Crescenta Valley on a drive that marched down the field and was rewarded with Wilkerson’s 3-yard run to cut the lead to three points with 6:18 to play to start the comeback.

It didn’t take long for the offensive fireworks to go off as Lee galloped 59-yards to the La Canada 4-yard line. Wilkerson would score from two-yards out with 2:11 elapsed on the game clock.

The Spartans answered quickly as Gray found Jay Kolina on 63-yard pass. Gray would end the drive with a one-yard touchdown run.

Gray would add a second touchdown after a Falcon turnover to take a 14-7 lead. Crescenta Valley answered right back with Lee doing the damage from 5-yards out to tie the score.

Both offenses didn’t let up late in the half as Gray would score his third of four touchdowns with a 19-yard run.

All Wilkerson would do after La Canada scored was complete four straight passes until the Falcons got to the Spartan 3-yard line. Lee’s score gave Crescenta Valley the lead headed into halftime.

The Falcons would start the second half with a drive that would stall at La Canada 20-yard line due to some penalties. Pavel Atanackovic would tack on a 48-yard field goal to make the score 24-20.

The Spartans would have one last chance on offense by Gray was intercepted by Brian Luna.
