Good Morning!

T-Minus-42 until Manny Ramirez returns to Dodgers lineup

The question in Arcadia today is can twin eight game winners Bryce Rutherford and Garrett Tuck 1-2 the Apaches deep into the playoffs?

Of course the draw is everything, but the veterans seem like they have been on this team forever.

FYI: The phrase “The Brawl of the Mall” (Temple City vs Arcadia in football) was coined by Mid Valley sportswriter Tim Peterson in 2002…

Bruce Smith, picked up on a DUI yesterday, had an experience with drugs in the late 1980’s. He never spoke of it and recovered so well…amazing what one bad choice and can do to a lifetime of work…

Since Wayman Tisdale never played for the Lakers my memories of him are mostly limited to what I saw of him on SportsCenter at the end of the night. I remember the splash he made as a freshman at Oklahoma, and the book on him coming into the NBA was he would struggle having to play facing the basket…

Talk about a 180…Twenty seasons ago there was concern about players who only played with their backs to the basket, down low in the blocks…Now there isn’t enough money to pay someone who can do just that…

Still, Tisdale’s passing makes me feel a little older…

Eight games AM (After Manny) the Dodgers have rebuilt their lead in the N.L. West back to six games…If somebody is going to do something, they better do it quick or the Dodgers will runaway and hide…

Obligatory John Scanlan Question of the Day: What do you do when your season turns special and by August you have your playoff rotation worked out? How do you keep your edge when you blast to a monster lead? Three examples come to mind; the 1954 Cleveland Indians (111-43, lost World Series to Giants), 1983 Chicago White Sox (99-63 won A.L. West by 20-games, lost ALCS to Orioles), the 2002 Seattle Mariners (116-46, lost ALCS to Yankees).

When does Cleveland fire Eric Wedge?

In Nipomo this weekend, I had venison last night for the first time. I’m down with it. Halibut out of the ocean, I’m down with that…Tri Tip, I’ve always been down with…better yet I’m surrounded by Dodger fans.
