Mid Valley High School Girls Basketball Top 25

Battle for the top spot in the Mid Valley rankings will be on Saturday when Bonita and Bishop Amat square off at APU.

Poly faces its toughest test in the Prep League when they head over to Rio Hondo.

After a tough preseason, Katie Hardeman has her Valley Christian squad undefeated in Olympic League play.

At the bottom are those who were given consideration for the Top 25 and also “games of the week”.

1. Bonita (15-1) – Madison Zylstra is now the all-time leader in scoring.

2. Bishop Amat (15-3) – Get off to a good start in Del Rey League.

3. Poly (15-1) – Can anyone in Prep League knock Panthers off throne.

4. Keppel (16-1) – Aztecs in good position to run the table in Almont.

5. Burroughs (12-3) – Lisha Elsenbach leads team with 18 points a game.

6. Diamond Ranch (9-8) – Panthers continue dominance of Hacienda League.

7. Muir (11-5) – Played with fire and got burned in upset loss to Glendale.

8. Duarte (13-1) – Imari Brown is the reason Falcons are leading the Montview League.

9. L.A. Baptist (13-6) – Stumbled last week against Valley Christian.

10. Pasadena (11-6) – Bulldogs are for real in Pacific League.

11. Sierra Vista (10-3) – Good bounce back week with two game winning streak.

12. Wilson (12-6) – Big win against Baldwin Park to take Valle Vista lead.

13. Walnut (11-6) – Finding it difficult to be in the Hacienda League.

14. Whittier (14-6) – Cardinals starting to gain momentum in Del Rio.

15. Baldwin Park (13-3) – Must begin a new winning streak after defeat at the hands of Wilson.

16. Glendale (10-7) – Huge upset win has Nitros moving on up in rankings.

17. South Pasadena (11-5) – Defense is key to Tigers winning streak.

18. Valley Christian (11-7) – Jelissa Holder is Crusaders “secret weapon”.

19. Burbank (12-6) – Have a share of the Pacific League lead.

20. St. Lucy’s (9-7) – Doesn’t get any easier for the Regents in tough Sierra league.

21. West Covina (11-6) – Can head coach Stephanie Foster upset alma mater on Wednesday?

22. Northview (11-8) – After sluggish start Vikings are making noise in Valle Vista.

23. La Salle (12-7) – Finally began to win again. Perfect time with League beginning.

24. Mayfair (11-8) – Monsoons undefeated in Suburban League play.

25. Monrovia (8-6) – Gina Henderson leads the way for Wildcats.
