Chase Price is heading to San Diego State

(Pomona) – Chase Price, the son of Ricky and Theresa Price and brother of Corey Price, will attend and play football for San Diego State University next year on a full athletic scholarship.

Chase Price grew up in Diamond Bar and attended Golden Springs elementary, Lorbeer Middle School, and Diamond Ranch High School. Chase played in Diamond Bar Little League (now Diamond Bar Pony League), Diamond Bar Pop Warner and basketball for the Diamond Bar-Walnut Youth Basketball League.

He was a member of the Destroyers travel baseball team, managed by Wayne Goodwin, who was crowned National Champions in Cooperstown, New York. Chase was also a member of an AAU Basketball Team who took third at Nationals in Orlando, Florida.

A Scholar Athlete, Chase lettered in football and baseball at Diamond Ranch High School. He lettered all four years in football and was a three-year starter and was a starter at the running back position for both CIF Championship Finalist teams in 2008 and 2009 seasons.

Price finished his career at Diamond Ranch with a little over 2,000 yards rushing and 18 touchdowns. He had his best games against local rivals Diamond Bar and Walnut. Against Diamond Bar Price rushed for 223 yards and three touchdowns. The following week against Walnut he ran for 305 yards with a combined rushing and receiving 388 yards and 4 touchdowns.

“Chase is one of the most complete running backs we have had at Diamond Ranch,” said Head Coach Roddy Layton. “Chase could do it all. He was a great pass blocker and run blocker. He could dodge tackles, run through tackles, and catch a ball out of the backfield.”

The Diamond Ranch Family is extremely proud of the hard work Chase Price put in on the playing field and in the classroom.
