The SGV Shootout (July 9th) is filled. I’m still not in the good graces of His Arroyo Baldness but he was kind enough to give me the list of the teams involved. They include: Alhambra, Diamond Bar, Gladstone, Northview, Covina, Buena Park, San Gabriel, Crescenta Valley, Los Altos, San Dimas, El Monte, Rowland, Whittier Christian, Nogales, West Covina, Baldwin Park, Arcadia, Rosemead, Azusa, and of course Arroyo… It has been expanded to a 20 team field this year.

Last Add Rio Hondo League: In the grand scheme of things as it compares to Monrovia this might be moot…but did you know Mike McFarland and his Temple City squad return Bryan Wong, Michael Bassette, and Bobby Soto along the front line next fall? For the Home of the Camellias that’s a lot of beef.
Paired with a maturing Mikal Quintanilla at quarterback, heavy doses of Carlos “Motor” Mota, and a return to health by Jamie Dea…and this team is looking alright.
