Joe Torosian

Good Afternoon!

Favorite NCAA Champion of all time? Villanova, 1985. I have to say my second favorite was Marquette’s run in 1977 with Butch Lee, Bo Ellis, and those jerseys that were designed to hang out.

Who is going to win tonight? Later…

***

If you want to know more about Cale Jasper ask San Gabriel HC Jude Oliva.

***

Two Del Rio League guys intrigue me going into this summer…La Serna bad dude Jake Houts… and Cal’s Justin Dankert, who is a punishing runner.

***

In light of recent discussions about the Mission Valley League and returning backs…Got a note today making an argument for Gabrielino’s Jonathan Perini has being the number one running back in the MVL.

***

Going on record now…Butler wins…it is currently 4:57 P.M.

***

I’m not going to say it was hot today, but it was warm enough for Mid Valley Sports staffer Big Tony to make a buck selling shade.

***

Was there really a serious discussion about the Dodgers moving Matt Kemp?

***

M-Town’s Ellis McCarthy stood out on Sunday at the Nike Football Training Camp at USC. Working in the 1-technique he was very good rushing inside. Later from the edge he looked very quick and strong.

Taylor Lagace & Myles Carr (Arcadia), Chris Solomon (West Covina), J.R. Nelson (Wilson) and Adam Sanchez (Bishop Amat) were among the locals attending.

***

Player introductions for the Final Four…see…that didn’t hurt at all…

***

Who is that number 29 for the Dodgers? Get rid of him he throws like a lily.

Speaking of numbers why is Davey Lopes wearing Dusty Baker’s jersey?

***

I knew the Lakers were in Utah Friday night when a call went against the Jazz and the fans started chanting; BULL-LONEY, BULL-LONEY…

***

M-Town’s Nick Bueno is a Marie Calendar guy…good to know…

***

Did you know Muir cornerback Kevon Seymour has received 10 Division-I offers?

Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Florida, Nebraska, New Mexico State, Oregon State, San Jose State, UCLA, and Washington.

Yet Seymour was not listed anywhere as All Pacific League for the 2010 season.

***

Give me some NHL playoffs…

***

Is there a running back worth having in this NFL Draft?

***

Rosemead HC Matt Koffler denies reports that he is replacing Katie Couric on CBS News.

***

What is the one-billion pound elephant in the room no one is talking about in regards to the beating of Giants fan at Dodger Stadium?

Alcohol!

This isn’t some Puritan reach for temperance, but a fact when people guzzle bowl upon bowl of loud mouth soup they turn into criminals.

Note to Dodgers: You want me to come? You want me to bring my family? You want others like me to do the same? Then make a move, a bold move, and stop all sale of alcohol at the stadium.

I’d rather have a dude puffing on a cigar next me then some jackwagon buzzed on brew, cursing at everything, and falling all over everyone.

As far as a family outing…I am done with Dodger Stadium.

Stay thirsty my friends…
