Pendleton Chooses Cal Lutheran

Bonita's Garrett Pendleton will be honing his quarterback skills at Cal Lutheran.

After months of speculation, Bonita quarterback Garrett Pendleton has chosen Cal Lutheran as the college of choice.

“It was a combination of the coaching staff,” said Pendleton. “I will be able to play quarterback at a good school.”

Pendleton also cited the new stadium being built for the football team and the distance from home as his reasons for choosing Cal Lutheran.

A two-year starter at quarterback, Pendleton led the Bearcats to a 12-2 record and a CIF Southeast Division final appearance where they fell in the last seconds to West Covina.

Last season, Pendleton went 150 of 239 for 2,033 yards passing with 22 touchdowns against five interceptions in just 10 games.

For his career Pendleton finished with 33 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, throwing for 3,506 yards.

He will concentrate on football while at Cal Lutheran.

Last year the Kingsmen finished 6-0 in the SCIAC and 8-3 overall after losing in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs to Linfield.
