South Hills gearing up for post season
Bishop Amat fell to Bonita in a classic pitching duel dropping the Lancers out of first. Arcadia just keeps winning to keep the pressure on. Crescenta Valley is the best second place team in the valley. Temple City, behind a strong pitching staff, has begun to pull away in the Rio Hondo. With another win over Montebello, Alhambra looks solid in the Almont while Arroyo is holding on in the MVL
1. Bonita (19-4) – Win over Amat puts them on top.
2. Bishop Amat (21-3) – Despite Bonita loss, Amat has locked up Del Rey.
3. Arcadia (17-3) – Eight of Arcadia’s 17 wins have been shutouts.
4. South Hills (15-4) – Battling Chino Hills for top spot in Sierra.
5. Crescenta Valley (19-2) – One loss since March 8.
6. Glendora (13-6-1) – Nick Cooksey – .453, 5 HR, 19 RBI.
7. Alhambra (18-3) – Moors have won eight straight in Almont.
8. San Dimas (16-8-1) – Saints trying to nail down Valle Vista.
9. Whittier Christian (18-4) – Heralds separating from the Olympic pack.
10. La Salle (14-8) – Lancers won’t beat Amat; will make playoffs.
11. Temple City (14-6) – First place Rams have won six straight.
12. Covina (14-9 – Tough loss to Wilson; Colts second in Valle Vista.
13. Diamond Bar (13-10) – Just one-half game back of Bonita.
14. Sierra Vista (17-3) – Red hot Dons square off with LP May 3.
15. La Puente (14-4) – Joey Espinoza hitting .434.
16. Montebello (13-7) – Oilers beat everybody in Almont not named Alhambra.
17. La Mirada (12-12) – Huge game with Mayfair on Wednesday.
18. Los Altos (14-9) – Conqs stun Bonita; third in Hacienda.
19. Arroyo (11-6) – Pounded South 14-1; Knights still in control of MVL.
20. Whittier (13-8) – Cards shuffle back into first.
21. Damien (10-11) – Looking to finish third and grab playoff spot.
22. Charter Oak (9-11) – Chargers have to find a way to beat South Hills, Chino Hills.
23. Mayfair (10-10) – Tied for first with La Mirada in Suburban.
24. El Rancho (10-8) – ER breathing down Whittier’s neck in Del Rio.
25. South Pasadena (11-11) – Tigers have climbed into second place in Rio.
