(Ontario)- The Arroyo Knights got four touchdown passes from Steven Rivera and never looked back in a 45-12 victory over the Ontario Jaguars Friday night in the season opener for both schools.
Rivera completed 15 of 26 passes for 265 yards, and a pair scoring strikes to both Hunter Duran and Andre Kerkhoff.
Ontario’s lone score in the first half came from running back Jacob Estrada, who scored from 10-yards down the sideline.
Trailing 28-6 at the half, the Jaguars used a 95-yard kick-off return for a touchdown to start the third quarter to narrow the gap to 28-12 but they would get no closer.
Rivera also added 34 yards on the ground and rushing touchdown in the third quarter. Cesar Barva added a field goal and Peter Aholoka punched in on a 1-yard run to finish the scoring. Aholoka rushed for 69 yards on the evening.
