It's been a rough go for Leon Ward at Bassett

It's been a rough go for Leon Ward at Bassett

By Joe Torosian

Good Morning!

T-minus-66 until “The Mid Valley Classic”

Funny, but every time I read about Bishop Amat quarterback Jerry McClanahan I think of an exceptional Little League pitcher…yet with experience, coaching stability, and talent around him this guy is poised to have a great year.

Hey Blake DeWitt is back on the Dodgers! I hope he can make it through the week this time…I’m always fearful they are going to reactivate Ed Amelung and stick him in the lineup.

Oh, I have always been a Vlad Guerrero fan.

Is there anybody out there who also thinks the San Francisco Giants are going to be the monkey in the wrench, the pain in the…neck, before the N.L. West is settled?

What happened to Mets third baseman David Wright’s power numbers? Did he do the Russell Martin workout this summer?

The guy takes a beating in some circles, but I have to admit I’ve always had good dealings with Leon Ward, though his time at Bassett has been rough…I do dig the stadium…

“Football Rush Week” is coming…

Does the U.S. House of Representatives stop business and have a moment of silence to honor our troops killed in action? No.

Does the U.S. House of Representatives stop business to pray for traveling mercies for our President as he heads to Moscow? No.

Does the U.S. House of Representatives at the urging of Jesse Jackson Jr., stop business to have a moment of silence for Michael Jackson? Yes.

Does the U.S. House of Representatives have a clue about anything other than spending money?

Perhaps congress should have floated an emergency bailout to Dusty Baker and the Cincinnati Reds after they lost to the Phillies yesterday 22 to 1…Those aren’t the odds of Peterson picking up the check next time we all go lunch…that was the final score…

Whispers are San Marino is having a rough stretch this summer, but no one is counting the Titans out…There’s too much talent…

Did you catch the ovation that Red Sox fans gave Nomar Garciaparra on Monday night when he returned to Fenway for the first time since being dealt to the Cubs in 2004…Was that for a job well done or a big thank you for taking his act elsewhere…?

Is Lance Armstrong really a story again?

Do we have to pay attention to the Tour De France?

I got my first fantasy football league invitation. Like the old gunslinger, I’ve got to go out once again and prove myself to these wannabes…

Stay thirsty my friends…
