(San Gabriel)-Johnathan Silvas rushed for three touchowns, Dillon Welsh added two with his arm, as Bosco Tech defeated Gabrielino, 48-16, Friday night on the Eagles home field.

After Silvas opened up the game with a 66-yard touchdown run, Adam Uballez pierced the end zone with a scoring run of his own and it was a 14-0 advantage with 2:00 remaining in the first,

However, less than a minute later, Cameryn Dennis-Matthews broke the plain for Gabrielino to make it a 14-7 game with 1:34 left in the first quarter.

After having a touchdown negated by a penalty, the Eagles were forced to settle for Oscar Palma’s 28-yarder to close the deficit to 14-10 with 8:00 remaining in the half.

It wasn’t 14-10 for long.

With 5:15 left in the second the speedy Silvas sprung loose for a 37-yard scoring run, pushing the lead back up to 21-10.

Silvas finished the night with over 100 yards rushing & 3 TD’s (66, 37, 13).

The Tigers opened it further on a 70-yard pass play from Dillon Welsh to CJ Alvarez to make it 27-10 right before the break.

Welsh threw for over 200 yards passing, including 3 completions over 50 yards.

The Eagles begun the second half with a 12-play scoring drive capped off by a 1-yard quarterback keeper by Mark Winchell, making it 27-16 after a botched snap on the extra point.

That was as close as they would get.
