(Citrus College) – San Dimas rushed for 331 yards and four touchdowns on the ground in a 42-6 rout of Nogales Thursday night in Valle Vista League play.
The Saints had six different players score touchdowns and seven players carry the ball. Jake Payton led the way with 120 yards on just seven carries including a 58 yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Domonic Jollevet also scored on a six yard run late in the fourth to cap the scoring and gained 82 yards on 12 carries.
Donald Wallace, Dillon Corona and Adam Casillas also got into the act. Casillas and Wallace each picked up 38 yards and Corona was solid with 51 including a 23 yard TD romp in the third quarter. Casillas scored from five yards out in the third.
To balance out the attack Sean Kennedy threw a 14 yard touchdown pass to Noah Heep for the Saints first score of the night. Kennedy completed 7 of 16 for 78 yards and two scores. San Dimas drove 55 yards on ten plays on its first possession with Kennedy finishing it with the TD strike. The drive also included a fake punt that Casillas ran eight yards for a first down.
San Dimas increased the lead to 21-0 at the half on Payton’s run and a 17 yard touchdown pass from Kennedy to Cody McNeal. The lights suddenly went out in the second quarter and the game was delayed for about 20 minutes before they came back on.
The Saints scored on their first two possessions in the third quarter to put it away. Nogales’ only score came courtesy of Keith Bolden. The senior broke off a 38 yard run down to the three yard line and two plays later went in for a two yard score in the fourth quarter. Bolden had 10 carries for 58 yards. Quarterback Nephi Tofiga completed five of eight passes for 89 yards and an interception. Michael Conchas caught three passes for 60 yards.
Nogales dropped to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in league while San Dimas won its fourth straight to improve to 4-1 and 1-0 in league.
