Alhambra’s Acuna Signs with San Jose State

(Alhambra) – Alhambra pitcher Gary Acuna signed a letter of intent with San Jose State Thursday in front of family, friends and Coach Steve Gewecke and staff at Alhambra High. Acuna, a southpaw, had a record of 7-2 in 2011 with 49 strikeouts and an ERA of 1.47.  

Acuna was a 2011 first team all Almont League selection and he was also picked to play on the Sr. Babe Ruth San Gabriel Valley All-Star team which advanced to the World Series in Ephrata, Washington. Acuna was a participant in the 2010 and 2011 Kiko Garcia Training under classmen All-Star Game.

Acuna, a senior, is a looking forward to wearing the Moor uniform one more year before heading north. The baseball season begins in March of 2012.

    This is the other parent Samatha Subia I beg to differ ..i was there for traveling ..Astros it takes a team .. He has brothers and Sister who were there for him ..Momma also had a job and was there for him . So wonderful comment to Gary .. u can’t forget us
