La Salle 69, LA Baptist 42

(La Salle H.S.) – Jordan Hill and Jeff Briegel both had double-doubles, co-game high 19 points each, and a block for host La Salle, who handily cruised past LA Baptist 69-42 to open up tournament play. Hill added an additional 11 rebounds and 6 steals while Briegel led all rebounders with 13.

Hill, Izzy Lacy, Conor Williams, and Garrett Stone all dialed in 2 assists. Kevin Walsh provided the Lancers with 6 rebounds, a block, an assist, and 6 points off the bench in the second half. Andrew Davis led LAB with 18.

Keppel 42, South Pasadena 36

The Aztecs overcame miserable free throw shooting and a second quarter void of made-field goals to navigate their way past South Pasadena 42-36. Matt Low scored just 3 points, but was effective elsewhere with 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals in benefitting Keppel’s cause.

Garrett Masada led the Aztecs and all scorers with 23 points and 5 three-pointers, burying three of those in the final frame.

South Pas was led by 11 points and 8 rebounds from Eren Cameron, another 7 points and 12 boards by Nicolas Sullivan, and a creatively-mustered 9 points out of Alireza Jabalameli.

Village Christian 52, Montebello 37

Bryan Alberts unleashed a smooth 9-for-13 flood from the field for 20 points as Village paced past Montebello 52-37.

The Oilers received an outstanding performance from Hector Martinez who scored 23 of Montebello’s 37. Adolfo Valdez was next with 9.

Other results:
