1.) Drew Brees set the NFL single season passing record with 5087 yards by throwing for 307 yards Monday night. He passed Dan Marino who threw for 5084 in 1984.                  

2.) Marino never won a Super Bowl.                    

3.) Brees is the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for more than 5000 yards twice. His 276 career touchdown passes places him ninth all time.                         

4.) Mike Brown is the fifth Los Angeles Laker Coach to lose his first two games.

6.) Defending NBA Champion Dallas has lost its first two games by a combined 32 points.                      

7.) The 49ers cut Braylon Edwards.
