With football now, essentially, year round and because of the revenue (and potential revenue) it generates should schools hire football coaches as they hire teachers?
Meaning should the head football coaching position be viewed as a full time teaching position on its own? When a coach is hired to run a football program should that be his sole and only focus?
Many current and former coaches have said that running a program, along with teaching in a classroom, is like having two full time jobs. Former South Hills HC Steve Bogan has often said the teaching he did with his players was just as real and relevant as the work he did in the classroom.
