Vinnie Lopez is the new hired hand at "The Ranch"
(Pico Rivera) – Venencio (Vinnie ) Lopez, a former Trabuco Hills assistant, was named the new Head Coach at El Rancho Principal Sam Genis announced Monday.
Lopez spent the last five years at Pac 5 powers Trabuco Hills and Santa Margarita High Schools. As a Run Game Coordinator in the South Coast and Trinity Leagues, Lopez brings a wealth of football knowledge to ER. Prior to his work at Santa Margarita Lopez was the Defensive Coordinator at Rancho Alamitos High School.
Lopez possesses a Social Science credential accompanied by supplementary credentials in Business and Accounting and Finance. He will be employed by the district as a day-to-day substitute, which will allow him to be a campus presence.
Lopez takes over for Rick Zepeda who resigned at the end of the season. The Dons went 5-5 overall in 2011 and 1-4 in the Del Rio League.
