Fanview Lite: April 27, 2012

Joe T.

Kick it!

No one else mentioned it so I will, but did the prospective number one picks in the green room for the NFL Draft have to fill out a request in advance to say that they would need child care?

In light of recent events from Burbank to La Verne, from Pasadena to La Mirada, can I encourage you, young person, not to smoke grass. The pleasure you feel in the moment is a ticket to an unsuccesful life. Just don’t do it, but if you choose to do it please remember not to blame anyone else for your failures…(exit soap box)…

It’s nice to see the Angels have closed the gap between them and the Rangers to nine games.

One thing I noticed about Chris Long during his time as the Hoover HC was his hard work, hard work in a place that gave up on football over fifty years ago. Good hire for Arcadia.

Note to Chris Long: By the way, who is your quarterback?

San Gabriel acquires quarterback Mikal Quintanilla from Temple City via transfer.

Think Again Longshanks: It’s been pointed out to me that Village Christian quaterback Jesse Hanckel may have a battle for the starting spot brewing with last season’s JV quarterback Will Pyburn.

Oh, I’ve always been an L.A. Kings fan.

Honestly, I’ve seen worse and things much more violent than Metta World Peace’s elbow to James Harden’s melon. I’m not losing any sleep over the suspension, the basketball player formerly known as Ron Artest deserved it…But the cruelest, worst, most awful, treacherous assault ever on the basketball court? Please.

Go Knicks!

Three second round picks for the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams…Oh for the days of Don Klosterman…This is what I want to see; a cornerback, an outside linebacker, an offensive lineman…I don’t necessarily have to have a receiver at this point.

Time Passes Dept.: We started Fanview Lite three years ago…It was designed to attract people to the site. In those dark days of 2009 we had two readers, three years later we’re up to six! (Torosian shoots! He scores!)

Most popular phrase said to me this week? “You didn’t hear it from me…”

Last Add Bell Gardens: I’ve been mentioning quarterback Tristian Escobar…but did you know that right tackle Daniel Martinez is 6-3, 298…and running back Jorge Remigio is now 6-1, 190?

Did you know that BG is going to win the Almont this fall?

For what its worth, or until I decide to slither off the bandwagons;

Duarte wins the Montview

Arroyo wins the Mission Valley

San Dimas wins the Valle Vista

West Covina the Hacienda

La Serna the Del Rio

Crescenta Valley the Pacific

Maranatha the Olympic

La Mirada the Suburban

And I’m going out on a limb to take Monrovia in the Rio Hondo…for now.

The Dude abides…
