1. The Cleveland Browns sign first round pick Trent Richardson to a four-year $20.4 million deal.

2. The Yankees acquire Ichiro Suzuki for two pitching prospects.

3. Former Minnesota Vikings GM Mike Lynn, who is best remembered for trading five players and seven draft picks to the Dallas Cowboys for Herschel Walker in 1989, passed away at age 76.

4. Kevin Durant scored 27 points to lead the USA to an 86-80 win over Argentina.

5. Joe Paterno’s statue was removed exactly six months from the day of his death.

6. The NCAA has not used the death penalty in football since it imposed a one year ban on Southern Methodist in 1987 for numerous violations.

7. Chad Ochocinco is back to Chad Johnson.

8. The St. Louis Cardinals record of 50-45 going into last night’s game was exactly the same as the 2011 team’s record after 95 games. Last year the Cards won the World Series.
