Mean Remains in Mead

Mead always has kickers, backs, and DEFENSE

(Rosemead)- “I tell them everyday they are going to finish in fourth place,” new Rosemead HC Marc Paramo about what he says to his team when so many others have written the Panthers off in 2012. “I love it, I love the fact that everybody is overlooking us. When these guys were freshmen they only lost two games; Monrovia and Westlake. They beat the BLANK out of Arroyo, South El Monte and El Monte.”

The concern about Mead has never been its defense (as nasty as ever), but its offense. Paramo has junked the old power game in favor of a read option. He’s got an a experienced set of tackles in Nelson Leon and Daniel Camarena, a pair of backs in Alex Zavala and Dominic Salas, and a new starting quarterback in Everado Camacho.

Former starting quarterback Adan Guillen still figures in the Panthers plans for 2012.

Dominic Salas figures to get a lot of touches on offense this fall.

Nelson Leon is “Bad Dude” in residence.

Until the regular season kicks off, the Panthers will continue to make it tough on each other.

Wide Receiver/Saftey Steven San Miguel has been around a long time.

Everado Camacho is the new starting quarterback.

Could this guy, Daniel Camarena, be the MVL defensive player of the year?

Longtime DC Marc Paramo, is now the HC for Rosemead.

“Let people think what they want to think about us, I don’t care,” Paramo says with a smile. “We’ll be ready.”
