(Pasadena)- Five different backs accounted for six touchdowns on the ground for Kilpatrick enroute to an easy 48-0 throttling of host Marshall at Pasadena High School on Thursday night.

Anthony Turner accounted for two scores via the air and ground. Starting with a 33-yard paydirt strike from quarterback Kent Lowery in the second quarter. He bookended the scoring by dashing 50-yards late in the fourth.

Anthony Murphy added two more rushing touchdowns from five and 10-yards. The Mustangs boasted three other solid backs in Nyquan Brinkley (10 for 76 yards), Michael Rodriguez (nine for 84 yards), and leader Glen Edmondson (seven for 94 yards) all ran in a score apiece.

Marshall received nice contributions from Mark Merino (7 carries, 47 yards) and relief quarterback Christian Clark scrambling for 66 yards on five touches, featuring 14, 22, and 23-yard gains. The Eagles threatened with their best scoring opportunity of the night at the Mustang 4-yard line with a little over seven minutes to play but it was thwarted with an end zone interception.

Kilpatrick will meet Sierra Canyon out at Granada Hills next Friday night September 14th (7:00 PM) while Marshall eyes a rebound out in Los Angeles against the Animo South Region 2 school.
