Game Night: Week 7 Northwest Division

The Falcons look to run past the Gladiators to the top of the Montview

All games are at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise indicated.

Friday 10/12

Montview League

Duarte (4-2) at Gladstone (6-0) at Citrus College

Last Year: Duarte  17-14

The Montview League title could be on the line for both teams in this one. Last week the Gladiators started slow and finished strong against Bassett while the Falcons throttled Workman. Gladstone can’t afford to start slow against Duarte who has the talent to run with the Gladiators. Gladiators score late and win a close one.

Gladstone  35 Duarte 28

La Puente (4-2) at Bassett (2-4)

Last Year: La Puente 56-0

The Warriors have come out to play in their last two league game winning by a combined score of 98-6. The Olympians are improving under the new staff lead by Hector Spathias but it won’t be enough this week. Brandon Rohr wants to keep the momentum going in preparation for Duarte next week. La Puente cruises to the victory.

La Puente 42 Bassett 14

Del Rey

La Salle (6-0) at Mary Star of the Sea (2-4)

Last Year: La Salle 49-20

Last year La Salle’s only win came against the Stars. Mary Star is improved and has two league wins but they are against a poor Cantwell team and even poorer Verbum Dei. La Salle is averaging close to 50 a game and were only challenged moderately by Westchester. The Lancers will run away with this one even if they are looking ahead to next week’s fate-of-the-world matchup with Bishop Montgomery.

Pioneer

El Segundo (3-3) at Torrance (3-3)

Last Year: Torrance 21-14

The Eagles and the Tartars come into the game with identical records. 3-3 overall and 1-0 in league. Both teams will be looking to build some consistency in a league that with the exception of North, is fairly wide open. El Segundo has won three out of the last four and will be looking for a little payback. Eagles win the close battle.

El Segundo 23 Torrance 20

Tri-Valley

Oak Park (4-3) at Nordhoff (6-0)

Last Year: Nordhoff  44-26

The Rangers are coming off their bye and get a good test to start Tri-Valley League play with Oak Park. The Eagles got a 42-28 win last week against the weakest sister in the league Santa Paula. The concern is the 28 points they gave up. Nordhoff is averaging 43.5 and Oak Park won’t be able to stop them.

Nordhoff 42 Oak Park 14

Saturday 10/13

Olympic

Whittier Christian (4-3) at Heritage Christian (4-3)

Last Year: Whittier Christian 54-0

Heritage Christian had a nice 4-2 record going into last week’s game against a injury ridden Maranatha and got exposed 40-7. The Heralds are coming off a 28-21 win over Village Christian. Whittier Christian will expose Knights even more!
