1. The NBA regular season opener between the New York Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets Thursday at the new $1 billion Barclays Center in Brooklyn has been postponed because of Hurricane Sandy.

2. James Harden signs five-year $80 million contract extension with Houston.

3. The Lakers fall to 0-2 after a 116-106 loss at Portland.

4. The Angels trade right-hander Ervin Santana to Kansas City for minor league pitcher Brandon Sisk.

5. Jamal Crawford scores 29 points off the bench to lead the Clippers to an opening night win over Memphis.

6. El Monte has beaten South El Monte two straight and three of the last four in the Griffin Bowl.

7. La Salle’s senior LB/TE Bobby LaSalle: 40 tackles, 12 assists, 52 total;  13 carries – 108 yards, 3TD.

8. Former Charter Oak running back Adam Muema is the leading rusher for San Diego State this year with 145 carries for 892 yards and nine touchdowns.
