Kevin Amezquita rushed for 295 yards and four touchdowns on 15 carries to lead Gladstone to a 54 -17 win over Mary Star of the Sea Friday night in the first round of the CIF Northwest Division playoffs at Baldwin Park High.
Amezquita ran right through the Mary Star defense all night. One of the four touchdowns covered 74 yards. Aaron Sanchez added two scores on the ground for the Gladiators.
The playoff victory was the first ever for G-Stone Coach Albert Sanchez. Sanchez has said that this is his last season on the job after 13 years.
Next week the Gladiators will host North Torrance.
