Daniel Ponce de Leon opens new gym

[Montebello] Multiple time world champion and 2000 Mexican Olympian Daniel Ponce de Leon, opened a non-profit boxing gym Friday in Montebello.
With a packed house and other world champions like Shane Mosley and Israel Vazquez on hand, Ponce showed off his new gym.
“There’s no gyms around the area and I wanted to open one where people could come and focus on the sport” said Ponce de Leon.
The gym will have well known trainers helping out Ramon Morales and Freddy Hernandez.
Ponce de Leon who has fought the likes of Adrien Broner, Jhonny Gonzalez, Juan Manuel Lopez and Yuriorkis Gamboa will call the “Ponce de Leon Boxing Gym” home for his camps when he’s not in Big Bear and for his next bout February 9th.
