San Marino Rolls through Hoover

By Jim Naysium

(Glendale) – San Marino rolled to another easy victory Friday Night with a 40-7 victory over the Hoover Tornadoes.

The Titans got off to a fast start, scoring on their first two drives with dominant O-line play. The Tornadoes bounced back, as Elvis Fuentes took a short pass from A.J. Pule and took it down the sideline to cut the San Marino lead to 13-7.

The score remained the same until just before the half when the Titans embarked on a 11 play, four and a half minute drive capped off by a Benny Hung one yard run to take a 19-7 lead at the half.

The second half was a defensive struggle until Joe Forgatch and Stevie Yortsos took over the fourth quarter. The two hooked up four times for sixty yards and two scores as San Marino blew the game open. A Benny Hung 49 yard touchdown on a draw play capped the scoring with a minute and a half left.

The Titans take their perfect record to Cantwell next Friday in an effort to continue their success.
