The Ten

(“The Ten” is not a top ten, but ten items worth being included in The TEN)

1. Although there were seven NFL coaches fired on “Black Monday” it still has yet to match the turnover of 2010 when 10 new coaches were put in place.

2. Fired Philadelphia Eagle head coach Andy Reid is close to being named HC of the Arizona Cardinals.

3. USC receiver Robert Woods announced he is leaving school to make himself eligible for the NFL draft.

4. Damien sophomore guard Jeremy Hemsley.

5. Stanford wins its first Rose Bowl since 1972 with a 20-14 victory over Wisconsin.

6. Rowland senior guard Chris Arzadon.

7. The Charlotte Bobcats snap an 18 game losing streak with a win over Chicago.

8. Northwestern wins its first Bowl game since 1949 with a 34-20 victory over Mississippi State in the Taxslayer.com Gator Bowl.

9. On this date in 1984 Rick Neuheisel threw for 298 yards and four touchdowns to lead UCLA to a 45-9 win over Illinois in the Rose Bowl. Two of those touchdowns were to Karl Dorrell, who preceded Neuheisel as HC at UCLA. The game was played on January 2 because New Year’s Day fell on a Sunday.

10. The Clippers 17 game winning streak is snapped with a 92-78 loss at Denver Tuesday night.
