Top 15 Returning Southeast Division Quarterbacks

Frankie is back!

Although the Southeast isn’t necessarily known as a division that throws the ball this is still a fairly deep lot. Guys like Frankie Palmer and Jorge Reyna are among the best QBs in the area. Sometimes a quarterback is a winner by leading his team and effectively managing a game (think West Covina’s George Johnson.) The player’s year in school is for 2013. You might not like the ranking of 1-15 but we listed them by yards passing, not necessarily as to who is best overall. The three numbers are passing yards, touchdowns, and interceptions.

1. Frankie Palmer (La Serna, Sr.) –  2168, 20, 3

2. Tyler Peterson (Diamond Bar, Jr.) – 2114, 23, 16

3. Tanner Diebold (Bonita, Sr.) – 1774, 11,12

4. Zach Yee (Arcadia, Sr.) – 1596, 9, 9

5. Jorge Reyna (Downey, Jr.) – 1567, 13, 4

6. Christian Hacegaba (Los Altos, Sr.) – 1253, 8, 9

7. Christian Lara (Santa Fe, Jr.) – 1068, 7, 6

8. Jonathan Jimenez (Pioneer, Sr.) – 959, 5, 9

9. Kevin Felix (Glendale, Sr.) – 939, 5, 7

10. Swain Williams (Bellflower, Sr.) – 797, 6, 8

11. Xavier Beltran (Diamond Ranch, Sr.) – 746, 7, 3

12. Andrew Williams (Burroughs, Sr.) – 699, 2, 3

13. Ryan Meredith (Burbank, Jr.) – 635, 4, 1

14. Isaiah Jackson (Mayfair, So.) – 618, 7, 0

15. Joe Torres (Crescenta Valley, Sr.) – 420, 1, 0

Notes: There are two names not on this list that should be major contributors in 2013. Arcadia’s Joey Harmon (Sr.) didn’t throw a pass last year after an ACL injury in the summer. La Mirada’s Kevin Dillman had just five pass attempts as he spent the year as a backup to Gerry Myres. Dillman, who will be a junior, has already received numerous D-1 offers.
