1.) The San Antonio Spurs defeat the Miami Heat 92-88 at the American Airlines Arena in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

2.) The Los Angeles Kings lose Game 4 to the Chicaco Blackhawks 3-2, ending the Kings’ 15-game home winning streak. The series is now 3-1 in favor of the Blackhawks as the series will be taken to Chicago for Game 5.

3.) On this day in 1892, John Joseph Doyle stepped up to the plate as the first pinch hitter in baseball.

4.) On this day in 1998, the Chicago Bulls beat the Utah Jazz in an NBA Finals game 96-54; this is the most lopsided NBA Finals win ever.

5.) Happy birthday to former NBA all-star Allen Iverson, who turns 38 today. Practice?

6.) Dodgers’ right fielder Yasiel Puig hits a grand slam in the eighth inning as the Dodgers beat the Braves 5-0. This is his third home run in four games; he has a .438 average and 9 RBIs.
