1. Hanley Ramirez has four hits and the Dodgers pound out 17 hits in all in a 10-8 win over Colorado. It’s their tenth win in their last 11 games.

2. The Boston Celtics hire Butler’s Brad Stevens as head coach.

3. The Rangers sign Manny Ramirez to a minor league deal.

4. The Tigers Max Scherzer is the first pitcher to start the season 13-0 since 1986 when Roger Clemes won his first 14 decisions for the Red Sox.

5. Yasiel Puig is listed as day to day after leaving Wednesday night’s game with a bruised left hip from crashing into the right field wall at Coors Field.

6. The Yankees sign Luis Cruz who was designated for assignment by the Dodgers last week. Cruz then opted for free agency Tuesday and started for Yanks Wednesday night against Minnesota.

7. Kyle Korver signs a four-year, $24 million deal with the Atlanta Hawks.
