Rosemead linebacker Matt Henderson has transferred to Cathedral

(Rosemead) – In what isn’t exactly a scoop but is definitely worth reporting Rosemead junior linebacker Matt Henderson has taken his talents to Cathedral. Henderson, who had 44 overall tackles for the Panthers last year, was expected to play a key part in the Rosemead defense this season.

“He would have been one of the best linebackers in the area but he decided to transfer,” said Rosemead Coach Marc Paramo. “We wish him well and he’s a good player but Rosemead football goes on. We’ll be fine.”

Henderson also had 32 solo tackles and three sacks last season as a sophomore. Henderson made the decision to transfer to Cathedral about three weeks ago Paramo confirmed.

Rosemead finished 4-6 overall last season and missed the playoffs but with a strong nucleus of young players the Panthers are again expected to contend for the Mission Valley League crown.
