Southeast Division Top 20 (9/3/2013)

Downey's Justin Huff

Downey’s Justin Huff

Downey didn’t play particularly well, but they were still very convincing. You can’t fault La Mirada for losing Tesoro, but the wildcard is Bonita. Are the Bearcats for real. Burbank gets unveiled this Friday, and Jesse Ceniceros is hoping all is well with Norwalk running back Rashaad Penny’s ankle.

.) Downey (1-0)-King of the hill…until someone plays better or they get knocked off.

.) La Mirada (0-1)-Tesoro last week, La Habra this week, the Israeli Defense Forces next week.

.) Norwalk (1-0)-It was tight against Cabrillo, defense will have to be on the ball at D-Bar.

.) La Serna (1-0)-174 passing, 68 rushing, another day at the office for Frankie Palmer.

.) Santa Fe (1-0)-Hello Esperanza. If they win this it will be time to talk about the Chiefs.

.) Los Altos (1-0)-How they handle San Dimas will give us an idea about them.

.) Bonita (1-0)-Who sang that song; “It’s only the beginning”?

.) Muir (1-0)-Were used to slow Mustang starts and fast finishes.

.) Burbank (0-0)-Everyone seems to like them over Bell Gardens.

.) Diamond Bar (1-0)-If they beat NorRock, they could be a top five team.

.) West Covina (1-0)-No one is really talking about the WC. Fine with Maggiore.

.) Diamond Ranch (1-0)-Break in the new home digs this coming weekend.

.) Paramount (0-0)-These guys have the talent to beat anybody,…anybody.

.) Crescenta Valley (0-0)-Get a full look of the Falcons this friday night.

.) El Rancho (1-0)-If Ranch wants to make a statement, they need to do it at D-Ranch.

.) Mayfair (0-1)-They need Isaiah.

.) Dominguez (0-1)-Blown out by St. John Bosco in opener, repeat of last year.

.) Bellflower (1-0)-Could be a little low, but its also pretty early.

.) Arcadia (1-0)-We wanted to move these guys up, but then again it was only Alhambra.

.) Rowland (1-0)-Pending Avery Duffus…all is in limbo. Jackie Zhang, however, is very fun to watch.
