(El Monte) – Most people don’t like working on holidays. But if you’re a high school football player or coach, you enjoy working on Thanksgiving. It means you’ve accomplished something, have advanced to the next level, heck it means you’re still playing.
This year Arroyo, by virtue of a 28-14 win over Schurr last week, has advanced to the semi finals and earned the right to practice on Thanksgiving. For the Knights it’s the first time they have been to the semis since 2004. They will face San Dimas, who defeated San Marino last week 56-28.
Other teams on the practice field for Turkey Day are Paraclete and Monrovia in the Mid-Valley, Norwalk, Muir, La Serna and Burbank in the Southeast and Nordhoff, Bishop Diego, Oak Park and El Segundo in the Northwest.
