1.  UCLA’s win over USC was the first back-to-back since the 1998 in which the Bruins completed eight straight wins.

2.  Lars Noothbar throws for 268-yards and three touchdowns in El Segundo’s win over Oak Park.

3.  Paraclete at San Dimas Friday night for the Mid Valley Division title.

4.  Mid Valley Birthday wishes to Arroyo assistant Kenny Andrew who shares a birthday with Green Bay Packer quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

5.  Skip Schumaker leaves the Dodgers and signs a two-year $5 million contract with Cincinnatti.

6.  Norhoff’s Koby Welch was in on 15 tackles in the Ranger’s semi-final win over Bishop Diego.

7.  The USC Trojan basketball team is 5-3 to start the season under new Head Coach Andy Einfeld.

8.  On this day in 1981 Fernando Valenzuela wins the NL Rookie of the Year.

9.  Boise State’s Chris Peterson has withdrawn from consideration for the USC head coaching position. Washington’s Steve Sarkisian interviewed this past weekend for the position.
