Kick it!

Looking for an answer; Why is 1980 the last time the MLB All-Star game was played at Dodger Stadium?

As an alumnus of a school that has not won a CIF title since 1930, the Downey fan base should be a little more grateful for what it has in Jack Williams and the team around him.

Note to APU: I understand my presence might have had something to do with it, (La Canada girls HC Tamar Hill has forbidden me to show up at any of her playoff games) but I was expecting much more out of the Cougars last night than I saw against Point Loma.

I mean it’s one thing to lose to the Crusaders, but to the lose to the Sea Lions? Come on.

In light of recent news perhaps we should talk to to God (through prayer) on behalf of former San Diego St./Charter Oak running back Adam Muema. No joke.

My list of candidates for the Monrovia coaching job has been exhausted. The original five on my list were; David Coldiron, Andrew Cupp, The Suave One, former Bassett HC Craig Cieslik, and Tim Silvett. I got nothing…as of now.

Next Note APU: Because of injury and SDSU transfer Chad Jeffries being unfamiliar with the offense, former Maranatha quarterback Andrew Elffers is getting a lot of time with the Cougars first team. Elffers will be a redshirt freshman in 2014.

I get why coaches step away at the high school level. It is a never ending, ongoing, heavy lifting life…and that is before they get to the X’s & O’s. Still, I am always surprised when a coach bows out with a running back like James “The Body Electric” Williams and a quarterback like Ryan Meredith returning as Burbank’s Hector Valencia did last Friday.

NCAA football voting on the “ten second pause” tomorrow…El Monte OC Brian Tabatabai readying to call down curses on Nick Saban.

Kentucky’s John Calipari is having a rough time…my heart just bleeds for him. Then again I believe Vladimir Putin is a great guy too.

Congrats to Dodger management and Time Warner. They’re in the process of doing something Dick Enberg, Nolan Ryan, Frank Tanana, and Wally Joyner couldn’t do. They’re making me an Angels fan.

Note to Direct, Dish, Cox, AT&T, and the Honorable Charles H. Hungadunga: Don’t cut a deal. Make Magic Johnson and his consortium pay the price for signing with Time Warner and we’ll watch the Halos this spring and summer (I don’t think they’ll be playing in the fall). As difficult a pill as that might be, we should all take a stand. So stand up. Stand up. Come on stand up. Let’s all stand against Time Warner.

Regards:

In regards to the Oscars: I haven’t watched a minute of them in eleven years.

In regards to the Mets: Go Mets!

In regards to American Idol: Kind of rooting for Jessica Meuse.

In regards to the San Dimas championship rings: I want one.

In regards to Bob Costas: Platform shoes.

The Dude abides…
