Mid Valley Spotlight: Monrovia’s Kameron Johnson

Monrovia's Kameron Johnson

Monrovia’s Kameron Johnson

Kameron Johnson: Monrovia, Jr. RB/S, 5-9, 170.

2013 Stats: Rushing: 79-609 yards, 9 TD; Def: 36 tackles, 20 assisted, 56 total.

As a backup for the best running back in the valley, Kameron Johnson didn’t get a lot of opportunities in 2013. But when he did get the ball instead of Kurt Scoby, he made the most of it. Only a sophomore, Johnson rushed for over 600 yards and scored nine touchdowns averaging over seven yards per carry. He uses a unique mix of speed and power that gave opposing defenses fits. This year Johnson will be the feature back and will be relied on for the bulk of the Wildcats ground attack. Johnson can also catch the ball out of the backfield showing off his skills in this year’s passing competitions. Johnson is a two player and will also line up at safety where he had over 50 tackles last year. The Wildcats are never rebuilding but always reloading. With Johnson in the fold the Cats are fully loaded and ready to go in 2014.
