1. Ravens terminate contract of Ray Rice after new video surface of domestic assault on his fiancee. NFL promptly follows with indefinite suspension.

2. One hundred ten years ago today, Boston Herald refers to the NY baseball club as the Yankees, they were not officially named that until 1913.

3. Downey’s opponent this week Mira Costa, gave up 70 points to Notre Dame Sherman Oaks in its opener.

4. Carson Palmer throws for 304 yards and two touchdowns as the Arizona Cardinals defeat San Diego 18-17 on Monday Night.

5. Aquinas has outscored its first two opponents 62-0.

6. After wins last night, the Angels magic number to clinch the AL West is 12. The Dodgers to clinch the NL West is 16.
