(Glendora) – Caleb Devine rushed for 191 yards and two touchdowns to lead Maranatha to a 35-26 win over Azusa Thuraday night at Citrus College.

Devine broke the game open in the in the third quarter busting off a 68-yard touchdown run to put the Minutemen up 28-14 with 6:00 left in the quarter. The Aztecs stayed at arm’s length the rest of the way but were never able to get within a touchdown.

Xavius Boone did the rest of the damage for Maranatha with a pair of touchdowns. Boone had a 55-yard punt return for a touchdown and also hauled in a 12 yard scoring pass from Eli Snyder.

***There was no score after the first quarter.

***Maranatha exploded for three scores in the second – two by boone and the other a 14 yard touchdown pass from Snyder to Charles Smith.

***Snyder finished an efficient 11 of 17 for 168 yards and two touchdowns.

***Boone had six catches for 109 yards and a touchdown in addition to the 55 yard punt return for a score. Boone also picked off a pass.

***Anthony Estrada ran for two touchdowns for Azusa and quarterback Joseph Ramirez also had two TDs on on the ground.  

***Dominic Ramirez had nine receptions for 144 yards while Ramirez (Joseph) threw for 207 yards for the Aztecs. All of the Aztec touchdowns came on the ground.

***Azusa cut the lead to 35-26 with 31 seconds left but the extra point sailed wide right. The Minutemen then recovered the onside kick.

***Maranatha improved to 3-0 while the Aztecs fell to 0-2.
