I know Maranatha is going to be angry with me, but Nipomo is on top right now. The Titans are very good. Valley Christian is on the cusp of a special season, but a let down against Mayfair takes them back to square one. Rio Hondo Prep’s Michael Cuda might not play football at USC, but he’s playing excellent football now and keeping the Kares in the hunt.
1.) Nipomo Titans, 2-1 (Northern League): They’ve played the stronger schedule and look like the team to beat in the Northwest.

2.) Maranatha Minutemen, 3-0 (Olympic League): Minutemen haven’t done anything wrong. They’re 3-0 against teams that have gone 2-6 the first three weeks of the season.

3.) Valley Christian Crusaders, 3-0 (Olympic League): Have lost to Mayfair each of the last four seasons…We do not think there will be a fifth. Love the Crusaders.

4.) Arrowhead Christian Eagles, 3-0 (Ambassador League): Team Mowbray has the AC on full blast.

5.) Mission Prep Royals, 1-1 (Northern League): Teams always want to play, after all there are only so many many Friday nights in a prep career…but the Royals needed a week to heal up after beating Rio Hondo Prep.

6.) Village Christian Crusaders, 3-0 (Olympic League): Schedule is killing them…They play Animo this week…Animo has never beaten an opponent from the Northwest or Mid-Vally Division…Let alone the Southeast or Central. VC will be 4-0 but it will be white noise.

7.) Rio Hondo Prep Kares, 2-1 (Prep League): Stole one at Gabrielino, but they are always the team people like to count out.

8.) Big Bear Bears, 2-1 (De Anza League): How good will they be going forward without Logan Wolf?

9.) Pasadena Poly, 3-0 (Prep League): We won’t really know about these guys until they play RHP on October 24th.

10.) Templeton, 2-1 (Northern League): Have scrambled back to life after a bitter start.

Others (in no order): Cantwell (2-1), Aquinas (2-1), St. Bernard (3-0), Whittier Christian (2-1*), Desert Mirage (2-1), Heritage Christian (2-1), Notre Dame-Riverside (2-1), Verbum Dei (2-1).

*Note: Whittier Christian is officially 0-3, its first two victories were overturned by forfeit. We choose to recognize the victories on the field for Top Ten purposes.
