Burbank Bulldogs HC Richard Broussard confirmed to Mid Valley Sports that running back James Williams has a complete tear of his MCL and a high grade tear of his ACL. He will require surgery.

“His high school career has ended,” said Broussard. “The next time we see him will be on Saturdays.”

Williams was injured on the opening kick off the Bulldogs Week One game at Bell Gardens.

Broussard also confirmed that quarterback Ryan Meredith, who suffered an ankle injury in Zero Week against Ayala, is back and will play this week.

Williams in 25 varsity games over three seasons scored 46 touchdowns, 39 rushing, five receiving, and two by return. He accounted for 2,978 rushing yards which places him second all time in Burbank history behind Ulises Ochoa.
