With Heavy Heart, Bassett Downs Don Bosco

Bosco scored the first two points of the game, but it was the Bassett Olympians who finished off strong on the way to a 49-16 victory over the Tigers on Friday Night at Bassett High School.Bassett, playing with a heavy heart after the recent passing of beloved Coach and Community Activist Fred Lujan, scored 30 straight points following there saftey and it was 30-10 at halftime.

Ricky Mejia, who finished with 3 touchdowns, showed off his speed mid way through the 4th on a 40 touchdown scamper which made it 49-10.
Bassett is scheduled on Oct. 17 to play Ganesha for Homecoming and Coach Lujans Jersey will be retired in a commemorating ceremony.

***Bassett punched it in goal line to make it 8-2.

***Ricky Mejia receiver kept moving the chains.

***Bassett scored on short run to make it 22-2.

***Jonathan Torres had a big catch and run Bassett before the half.

*** Bosco scored to make it 22-10.

***Bassett forced and recovered two fumbles.
